Professional

info

I am in the final year of my degree which I will be completing in June. I have enjoyed the course immensely (BA HONS Television and Radio) and after three years I am still learning new things about the industry. I am a hard-working, dedicated individual with a proven record of taking on new challenges. I am a team-player with the ability to lead or be led, but equally capable of working individually. I am Adept at working in high-pressure situations and have consistently produced results of a high, professional quality.

Freelance video Producer

September 2014-present

I have produced video content for Key 103 on their auditions to find the ‘next big girl band.’ I filmed interviews with presenters and the auditions themselves and assisted in the editing. I also helped shoot the music video “Music Everywhere,” which was the winning Girl bands debut single put forward by judges Shayne Ward and Kim Marsh.  I am also part of an independent film crew working around Manchester specialising in music videos. Currently working with the Carousel sessions and musician legend Mike Mcgoldrick.

Freelance Audio Engineer

December 2014-Present

I have produced Audio content for Key 103’s mission Christmas Campaign ran by presenters ‘Mike and Chelsea’  and was in charge of audio recordings and editing  for the ‘flight of dreams’ campaign in December. The campaign was a huge success and raised over £1.6 million for children in greater Manchester. I am also fully trained in using Avid and Adobe recording software.

Events/Street Team (Key103)

August 2014-Present

I have worked for the street team at Key103 for quite a while now and feel as though I have learnt so much from my experience there in the industry. I have worked on the ‘Key103 Live’ music even at the phones4you Arena, the NHS health awareness campaign, as well as numerous shifts working with members of the public. It has really given me the chance to work better within a team, organise myself and focus on the job at hand.

Musician

June 2006-Present

Studying music since the age of 6 has also given me a chance to work with some of the best bands on the Manchester scene, including; Green Hot Clover, Shake the Barley, The last Drop. I have also played alongside world-renowned musicians such as Mike Mcgoldrick, Tim Edey, and John Joe Kelly. Playing music nearly all of my life has given me a deep understanding into the music industry and has taught me a lot about recording/sound engineering, and what it takes to be a musician and entertainer.

I still currently play around Manchester in various bands including a new project, ‘Dara and the Woodsmen.’

Work Experience

Shock Radio Presenter/Producer

September 2014-Present

I currently produce and present the ‘App Chaps’ on Shock Radio every Friday at 10AM. The Show focuses around comedy and Technology in the news that week. This is a way to help me improve my presenting/producing skills each week.

All FM Presenter/Producer

May 2008-Present

I have been presenting the Irish Radio on All FM 96.9 for almost 7 years now and the skills and experience I have gained form doing so has been invaluable. All FM is a community station although people tune in to our show all around the world. It is aimed at the Irish people around Manchester, especially the older generation who may be ill or housebound and we aim to entertain them with music and fun.

Tech operator and show producer Heat Radio and The Hits Radio

September 2014-December 2014

I recently did a 3 month work experience placement at ‘Heat radio’ and also helped out with ‘the Hits.’ My jobs were to tech op the shows and assemble them together after they had been sent down from London. We used ‘Dalet’ to edit the shows together with all the imagery, music and presenter speech. Then work through each hour from 6 Am. This gave me the opportunity to learn all about ‘Dalet,’ having only previously used ‘Miriad,’ and the experience also taught me about working to deadlines and how to prioritise my work.
